Welcome to the Vector Security False Alarm Prevention page. We hope you will find ways to reduce your risk of a false alarm while still enjoying the knowledge that your home or business is protected.

Some may ask why we should be concerned with false alarms, isn’t it the job of law enforcement to respond to alarms? The answer is no, there are no laws that mandate police response to alarm signals, they respond in the event that there may be a crime in progress. 99% of the time the alarm is falsely generated and they are taken away from other matters that require their attention. Each response costs them $45-$90, with over 20,000,000 million alarms reported annually; this is costing our nation billions of dollars.

Due to this immense number many of our cities across the United States are enacting ordinances designed to decrease the number of unnecessary responses. These ordinances may include fines that increase with each subsequent false alarm, require verification that an actual crime is in progress, or include no response from law enforcement.

We do not want our customers to face these penalties and we are asking you to partner with us in reducing your risk of a false alarm.
