Jim Rao: VectorVision Video Surveillance Program
While the perceived value of a video surveillance system is dependent
primarily upon its ability to reduce employee theft and shoplifting;
its value can expand far beyond that initial role if its designed correctly.
Retailers and their loss prevention staffs need to take a proactive role
in using video in different ways, evaluating emerging products, and searching
the entire gamut of equipment and manufacturers who are making a difference in
todays video services market. Managing that commitment takes time however;
so my job is to help retailers navigate through the process.
Thats why I designed our VectorVision program with a goal to pair the best equipment
components from an array of world class video product manufacturers. We search for the
best products without exclusion that meet the rigid standards for quality and innovation
reflected by VectorVision.
As a result, retailers simply need to rely on our expertise to recommend
whats best to suit their needs. VectorVision allows retailers to focus
their investments on the technologies that will work best for them and their
attention on the return they can realize from those investments.
Although most security companies can install an ordinary video surveillance
